Born January 12, 1960 in Gävle but grew up in Östersund. I started playing in a band called Gribbick 1978. Between 1982 and 1985 I played in the group Café Midnatt. In 1982 the group finished in third place in a national rock band contest, which was won by Europe. Our third price was to record the single Varma minnen/Ge mig liv with Dan Hylander as the producer.

Thomas Erdtman, who became Europes manager, was the guy that organised the contest, and as a jurymember he voted for us as the winners.

I guess he didn’t regret being let down by the rest of the jury. I left Östersund for Stockholm 1986 and for a couple of years I played in the blues band Bob Beamon and the bluejumpers. Then came a long period without playing in bands until I met two guys at a party. And that was the start of Brain.

The Beatles, T-Rex, Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Joni Mitchell are some of my biggest musical influences.
